Self Alchemized coaching centers around various models and theories of depth psychology and transformative experiential practice. Drawing from sources that range from the forefathers of transformational psychology as well as those currently exploring the frontier, the coaching model used is truly unique in its understanding of the human experience.
I work with the premise that we are first and foremost conscious experiencers, and that much of the inner conflict and heaviness that accrues throughout life is from a disconnect with this true essence of experiential awareness within.
Going deeper than just the psychology, I aim to peel away the layers of mental narratives to arrive back at the source—and learn to embody this quality of experience.
As is the case for many of us living in today's age that is oversaturated with isolation and disconnect, the default mode has been to overrely on mental construction to make sense of this reality we inhabit. While the mind is a powerful tool for understanding, it is incapable of providing us with the deeper experiences of fulfillment, happiness, joy, and everything else that goes into living a meaningful and expanded life—all states that are our inherent birthright to experience.
To remedy this, we employ shadowwork to directly begin unraveling the mental constructions, narratives, stories, and beliefs that are solidified into your specific worldview. By questioning and uncovering these beliefs, we begin to excavate the true power held within.
As we unearth these core beliefs we can then enter into the tangible material of consciousness itself—feeling. Even more integral to the experience of consciousness is the felt state underpinning the belief. Through mapping and shifting these feeling states, developing a stronger relationship with feeling as a valid medium of experience, you will experience the power of radically altering your reality from the inside out.
- INNER PARTS -
A huge aspect of the psyche that I work with is the idea of parts. Rather than assume that you are a single identity, I look instead to the underlying relationships and connections that form the conflicting perspectives and viewpoints held within. Understanding that we are made up of multiple inner parts rather than one single self is rather intuitive, once you realize how often you may use phrases like “a part of me believes this…” It’s much easier to notice parts shifting in others, as they may seem to become completely different energy wise in different situations. Though we have the experience of a continuous identity, the truth lies closer to the idea that we actually harbor an entire ecosystem within.
These parts came online at various times in our lives to help us get our needs met at that time. Their job is to help, even if all they know is methods of which appear like self sabotage. Really, they hold certain beliefs, and will keep repeating these beliefs on a cycle until the pattern is interrupted and reprogrammed.
These parts exist as feeling states that exist in a literal space and time in or around your body. They have a tangible existence within your awareness. By isolating the part, we can map out the location, shape, size, etc. of the part in order to access its original form. Once this is done we can shift the feeling state to something more conducive to overall fulfillment, opening up more possibilities within your life.
- SHADOW WORK -
The shadow is a concept posited by the psychologist Carl Jung. It deals with the hidden, repressed, and more negative side of our personality that we struggle to acknowledge, even to ourselves. The shadow is where many of our negative, self sabotaging beliefs lie—exactly the qualities that restrict us from living life in a state of total abundance.
The intention of shadow work is to parse out these beliefs. Through questions and exercises we will find what lies at the bottom of your psyche and bring it to light in order to begin the deeper transmutation process.
- SOMATIC EXPERIENCE -
Somatic therapy was developed by treating the body as a direct recipient of our inner conflicts. Seeing the body not as something that merely carries our head around, somatics place the body at the center of our experience. By healing the pain carried within the body, we can heal the psychological conflicts and bring more peace and prosperity into our lives. Embodiment essentially equals total full spectrum health.
As we move from a mind dominated experience to a feeling oriented one, the body plays an increasingly heightened role. It is the gateway to feeling, though feeling is not limited to the boundaries of the body. Because of the tendency to disregard the body in favor of mental processing, it will be paramount to work with the somatic element of the psyche.
Through working together, you will experience a deeper sense of embodiment, feeling grounded and like you are inhabiting more of yourself. This is the ultimate goal of somatic therapy and something that occurs by working directly with feeling states.
- SELF ACTUALIZATION -
Self Actualization is a term that comes from humanistic psychology and relates to the idea of embodying the full extent of one's potential. Through this coaching, our goal is not just to dig into the deeper layers of your psyche and build a general sense of fullness and embodiment within your life, but to also embody the version of you that is able to achieve your dreams.
Our intent here is to build forward momentum, to find the obstacles standing in the way of your goals and help you not only achieve what you want to, but to cultivate an embodied life that can hold and maintain these visions.
The inner work process is a never ending journey, and though it may move out of the red zone of heavier feelings rather quickly, working with inner states can be a fulfilling and powerful tool for expanding your level of creativity, freedom, and ability to live a life that truly makes you feel alive.
I am here to help you get there.
